Sweet Dalia Recipe

Ingredients (one serving):-

1/2 liter milk
100 grams raw dalia
about 200 ml water
8-10 almonds (optional)
10-15 raisins (optional)
5-7 cashew nuts (optional)
4 table spoon sugar or to taste
1 1/2 table spoon ghee

Recipe:-
(a) It would be great if we have almonds soaked in water overnight. Remove their cover & cut them in small pieces. Even they are not soaked then grate them in small pieces and keep aside.
(b) Soak raisins (kishmish) in water 20-25 minutes before you start cooking.
(c) Cut cashew nuts in small pieces.
(d) Heat 1 1/2 table spoon ghee in frying pane on low flame and now add raw dalia to it. Roast dalia for 4-5 minutes and keep stirring this with serving spoon (kadchi) till it turn brown. Now pour water in it and keep stirring it till 5% water remains on low flame. Now pour milk to it and continue to stir it with serving spoon for next 10 minutes on medium flame.
(e) Add sugar two minutes before you turn off the flame. Stir the dalia properly so that sugar get mixed to it. Turn off the flame.
(f) Now add almonds, cashew nuts & raisins. Let this cool down to room temperature.
(g) Serve it.

Values:- This is yummy breakfast for many. Dalia contains carbohydrates, fiber and protein. Cholesterol and fats are almost nil.
